The Claddagh ring is one of the most famous celtic symbols here in Ireland.
This unique celtic ring is handcrafted from 14ct white gold and the meaning is one of love and affection.
It comprises of three symbols:
- The heart for love
- The hands for friendship
- The crown for loyalty
An old Irish tradition is to wear the heart facing towards you to symbolize that your heart is 'taken' or facing outward to suggest your heart is still available!
The Claddagh is said to be in existence since the the 17th Century and to this day is still being used as a wedding ring.
